What are main lessons?
A main lesson is unique to a Waldorf school timetable as it is an uninterrupted two-hour lesson given in the morning. Subjects are taught in modules or blocks of about three to four weeks. This approach allows the child to become deeply involved in the subject to aid memory and understanding. A Waldorf school day is structured to incorporate a specific rhythm of thinking, feeling and doing. Lessons are presented in a creative and imaginative way through the use of story-telling, imaginative pictures, colour and movement.
